love this, mary...xcl-ent!
weird but true, dark can sometimes be far more welcoming and comfortable than light. maybe this is why i rush in the d-room to feel at ease...

I just discovered your work....your portfolio is drenched in mystique and a strange sense of doom. This pic is riveting. To me, it is all about temptation. Come to MY side. There is no safety...don't look for it. Love your goods. ..Brad

It doesn't frighten me.It is like a dreamland, full of shadows.I had to look at it very closely , because at first I thought it was in the water.(Why don't you try water?)

It's the confusing elements in this image that chill the soul. Good!

I like your comment dearest Karen! So observing!! What you said is valid and it is projected on me and my attitude towards fear. Once I "dreamt" of this image, this figure coming towards me, I felt fear as I am not the type of person that is in good terms with darkness, darkness frightens me! Remember the stories our mothers used to say...about something coming "to get you", not very educational ha? I am glad all these reach the viewer! It is fun after all!!

You have creatively captured the feeling of fear-and even perhaps confusion. I love the way the eyes are dark to really capture the feeling of not being able to see anything-going into the unknown blindly. Can be related to real life situations. The blurry effect and the jumbled mess of black looking strands in the background gives me a sense of confusion. For me it speaks of being naive in one's actions. Again another expressive shot. Well done.

I think this might be even more menacing if you cropped it so as to put lots of impeding darkness and doom above and behind her.
