It is hard to believe that you've never had a camera until 2005. This is a great composition and I wouldn't consider reshooting so as to focus the tracks instead of the weeds.
Best, Dave

Very nice DOF study. The muted colors are pleasing. This looks like a great place for photos, it would look different in each season of the year.

I like this shot, your right, the focus adds interest. I like good RR track compositions, I'll be posting one next. i really like these tones and how you composed the track comming into the picture from the left side and curving up to the horizontal track. By all means you should go back here to shoot more.

Yes Kathy, I think there is great potential for more shots! I assume from your title that the clearly visible track is merging with another - a slightly higher viewpoint might work. Another interesting angle could be to capture the track almost as this one, but with the vertical section of it exactly vertical (if you see what I mean) and centred.
I do like the weeds in this one, the way you have focussed on them and the way they catch the light.

Kathy, quite interesting picture, but the composition is slightly misbalanced to left. Great idea with the weeds being in foreground but those are to weak to attract someone's sight - the tracks dominate anyway. Cheers, n.j

Great DOF, well composed, the rails make the pic very interesting while the dry weeds are simply beautiful. Gyorgy

I'm sure you'd take it as a complement if i say: "I feel Jeanette Hagglund is some where in this classic photograph doing her own bits!" I loved the bent of the tracks leading to that wonderful separation the upper road has made exactly where it should. The lighting is also a mere pleasure to the eye! baha

Super duper Kathy with that beautiful light on the weeds and because the tracks are partially hidden there is an air of mystery about the image.

YEs it's a really interesting DOF to have the focus on the plants but it actually draws the eye towards the trackcs more for some reason. Perhaps it gives a feel of being a kid and peeking through the leaves to see what's happening in the distance but wantin g to stay hidden. I love the curve in the track leading us right to the other track then that leads us again another direction. A very leading (or maybe guiding is a better word) image Kathy. I like it very much. :)
Cheers - Ann :)

I like the shot of the bend in the tracks through the grass, Kathy! Nice composition with the tracks coming in at an angle and leading the eye up to the center. Dave.

Interesting looking bend in the tracks. Looks so very sharp at this angle. This looks like it could be Mr. Toads wild ride at Disney land. I too like the weeds in the front of the picture. Great pattern to them. Adds more depth. Nice lighting and colors. Kelly

Before I read your about I thought the same thing...I like the focus on the weeds. There are a lot of possibilities for this shot. The school might nab you for skulking around though! ) Pretty post Sissy, well worth slamming on the brakes for!
