Good work Colin, at first look it was looking as a mask for me, but when I opened it I was surprised that this was a sculpture. I've been there in 1989 at San Remo, and you are right about the area, it is at first a super market.
Regards Claude

Well! Clearly I wasn't the only one to appreciate this image... *grin*
To answer your challenge: Incan rites? You betcha! The Green Man's visage? Right on! A von Danniken artifact? Oh yes...yes indeed! A Roman sacrificial idol? Yep. Druidic/shamanistic demi-god? Oh yeah! And a couple more:
...a misplaced Easter Island head?
...Kali, goddess of destruction? (think the thuggee temple in "Gunga Din," --now THAT's a fantastic movie!)
...Thulsa Doom's temple god in "Conan the Barbarian/Destroyer"? ("What is best in life?" Conan: "To crush your enemies, to see them driven before you, and to hear the lamentations of their women." ...*sigh* you gotta love writing like that!)
and a big thumbs up for Darlene's winner: Darth Vader. (She made me snarf my coffee when I read that one!)
...the list could go on and on and on...

Really atmospheric Colin, spooky and creepy, very well captured you've done a great job on it, such a tiny crop and yet such impact. The eyes stare right at you. Exellent Margaret

Hmmm. I think I prefer the results given by your current camera. It certainly is spooky, though... if that's what you wanted.

Hi Colin... I like very much what you did here... Excellent coposition and love the colors... In my opinion the grain in the picture adds a lot to the image... It goes very well with the statue and composition... Great work my friend...

Jude! I thought you may be the first to comment on this one! (and probably last, by the look of it!) Let's see how many of these mental pics, my image conjures up for you and see if we agree on - Aztec/Inca magical rites. The Celtic 'Green Man', Eric von Danniken's, Ancient Astronauts left it! Roman sacrifice, Druid stone circle ceremonies and various world Shamanistic 'activities'...
