About Found this peachy rose in the backyard after a rain storm. Its beauty stunned me. I needed to capture it during its transient existence.

Hello Colin - and welcome to Usefilm - thanks for your kind comments on my 'golden eyes' photo - I used the 'auto' setting on my fuji digital camera to take the picture - still getting used to it after using my old SLR camera - I love this photo you have taken - sometimes the best pictures are right there in front of you - well spotted and good luck with your future photos - reagrds Jeff #:0)

Thanks a lot for your in-depth comments on my embryonic portfolio! You've put effort into your critique (the best so far) and it shows. You've made my day with your constructive comments. as I've only been on this amazing site for a few days, I'm fumbling my way though it!

I agree with you about modern cameras, (I've just bought a state-of-the-art (1984!) canon T70, for £27! I love it, but no macro or zoom, weighs a ton, no instant view, etc...

Again, appreciated your comments.

Now THAT'S what I call a macro! It's certainly more what I had in mind when I started trying to take them. But I find that the cameras I most love to use are making it difficult... stop-down metering is the killer. Thanks for the encouraging comment on my own recent effort!

I worked for a year in Newcastle, and for a couple more after that in Co. Durham a little further south, so I know your part of the country... Great place for photography! (So was mine--Bristol.)

Great Macro, Colin. Wonderful detail and colour and the rain drops just add to the dewy freshness of it all. Nicely timed. Just read your bio. I think you probably appreciate what you see more than those of us who take such things for granted. You have been given a special gift, a second chance, and it's good to see that you are using it so creatively. Cheers, Ann.
