About I Took this sunset when I first got a digi camrea (pentax 330GS) This photo was so monochromatic that I had to enhance the colours in photoshop. The original was virtually black and white!
This gives a feeling of the moody cheviot hills where I walk all the time.

Thanks Lorraine, I also feel that this image sums up the northern english, moody landscape.

ps I've added your superb, "Mr Jingles", to my favourites. A beautifully detailed, and composed snap, of your diminutive visitor!

Colin,
Thanks for the nice comment. I live close to Northumbria and working in Teesdale I love this kind of scenery. The North is a very unexplored landscape for a lot of people in the British Isles and they don't know what they're missing! This photo summs up the very essence of the North and I love it. You have a wonderful eye for a photograph and I think you would enjoy Teesdale. Keep up the good work, I will be watching out for your work!!

This is in the, lesser known, Northumberland national park, near wooler. The other side of the hill on the right (cheviot), is in Scotland. You would feel very much at home if you came here, James, as the cheviots are great for walking in solitude, and recharging your spritiual batteries!

I appreciate your comments, thank you.

Regards

Colin

i'm not familiar with this part of england, but it does appear to be very nice. anywhere where there are hills i feel at home. i love hiking in them and you never know what you might find once in the hills.

the lighting here is very nice.....

warmest regards ~ james

Very beautiful, mystic landscape, Colin. I especially like that the hardly visible trees are sharp in the foreground while the dominating clouds are blurred. A good effect and excellent photoshop work with the colours. Congrats!

That's interesting P.J. May try to do a bit of "fiddling" myself. In some ways, the original is good, as the dark contours show off the valley detail and the sun/cloud relationship.

Thanks for those words Judi, means a lot.
I must try something elaborate on photoshop sometime! You and Kelly have fine portfolios - is it something about australian lady photographers?

Soft, peaceful image. I like the composition with the detail in the valley.

I read your Bio. Keep in mind a vision starts in the heart the eyes are just used to prove it.
I am so happy you have your sight back, I see you are putting it to good use. You have a good start on a fine portfolio.
Best Regards,
Ellen

Your comment was much appreciated Brian, thanks for taking the time.
And you were right. I've just looked at my original and it conveys the brooding atmosphere better without the colour enhancement.

I noticed you have lots of northumberland photos.
Are you a resident up here?

GREAT SHOT COLIN...THE CHEVIOTS CAN BE VERY MOODY CAN'T THEY? THE ENHANCEMENT OF COLOUR IS FINE BUT I BET THE ORIGINAL WAS EVEN MORE DRAMATIC.
WELL DONE !
