About
Cruise Weekend in Saskatoon. People bring lawn chairs out to the strip and watch the cars cruise up and down. As do the police - damned little street racing on cruise weekend! The owner of this exceedingly hot Beaumont (a muffler shop owner from Melfort, Sask.) told me that if he drove it carefully he got "nine miles to the gallon". If he put his foot down he burned at a rate of 450 pounds of fuel per hour. Not sure what that comes to in litres / hundred kilometres. But I'm thinking a lot. Still and all, a stunningly beautiful piece of automotive history. We shall not see their like again... A pan shot taken against the lights of a used car dealership. How appropriate.
Hi Jon, The Chevelle Malibu of the North! These guys sink amazing amounts of money into these cars. The local cruises are great places to get some fantastic photo ops. Nice use of the lights in the background of this one. Reminiscent of the night scenes in "American Graffiti." Andre
The engine of said Beaumont. I set up my tripod and took about 10 shots of this engine from low down and close up, and managed to cut the top off... sigh... But this is not so bad as a documentary shot anyway.
