About Shot during a demonstration on Parliament Hill. Things I learned in Ottawa: cutting through Parliament Hill when walking from the Business Inn to the Canadian War Museum does not constitute a short cut. But it can lead to interesting photos, such as a number I took of this frantic student demonstration. I converted it to b&w to try to make it less busy and draw attention to the faces. In doing so I think I have brought a stillness - almost a somberness - to an occasion that was anything but. Which shows how easy it is to make film say what you want it to say.
