About
The University Bridge in Saskatoon. Taken last summer, using a tripod, from a little sandbar in mid river, converted to b&w, toned and tidied up a bit.
Built in 1913-1916, the bridge is the source of a number of interesting stories - chief among them that a worker fell into the concrete of one of the piers and is entombed there, and that the original contractor mixed his concrete with straw because he was running out of money, requiring a pier to be demolished and re-built. Neither story is true, although the original contractor DID go broke (he underbid very badly on the project) and a pier did have to be repoured (because it set improperly).
Nice image & tone but then I like nite photos. they communicate a serene atmosphere & reflective mood well. the only thing I didn't like about the composition is the faint light source at either edge, spotting them out would enhance the image by giving a border of dark shades to emphasis the light.
