About
Graffitti from inside an abandoned pumphouse, once part of the Saskatoon power station (since torn down). Photographed while on a tour with a group investigating potential for heritage restoration and conversion.
I got a number of graffitti shots from inside this place. This was probably the best piece. A dangerous little spot, full of sudden shafts and wells, rusted machinery and frail bits of catwalk (it was used to pump water up to cool the generators, the send it back down to the river). The local power company guys had to chase a couple of fellows out of the building just before we got there. Surprising some kid hasn't fallen and broken his neck in the decade since the station itself was torn down.
