About
With apologies to JRR...
This building sits on the spot occupied by a very charming (if somewhat rundown) apartment building, on the third floor of which I once attended a party. Seeing a fire escape ladder hanging down at the back, I climbed to the third floor of the building and made my entrance through the hallway window, to the great surprise of the people therein. The tower whose reflection we see is across the street and was once the site of the stately McCallum Hill Building, Saskatchewan's first high rise. When the owners decided they wanted to do something new with the site they let the building fall into disrepair then demolished it by implosion (following a carefully orchestrated media campaign hyping the province's first every demolition by explosion). Very sad.
Thanks, Antonio. I agree about the lighting. I tried to play with saturation, etc, to give it more "pop" but it didn't really help. A brilliant day with more deep blue sky would help this shot, I think.
