About I have a bluebird box in my yard. I had been watching the eggs for a couple of weeks. As usual, I got up let the dogs out and checked the box. One egg just had a crack in it. I ran back to the house, got the camera and began shooting. This is the last image in the series. This little fellow is less than one hour old. Very neat to watch.

Thank you Elisa,

I've still got the bluebird box in my yard and this coming summer I'm going to really try to do a good job at getting some young bird shots with my new camera. Such beautiful little creatures.

Thanks again,

Dave

Despite the focusing problems this is a very interesting and cute shot; thanks for sharing!

Dave~

Wow.. this is amazing! How neat to be in the right place at the right time! (Focusing issues notwithstanding, this is a great shot of a lovely moment in time!)

Love your nature shots! I still haven't figured out how to get good bird shots without blurring... :\

Be Blessed~

Thanks Paul,

I think every photo I've posted so far is from the Kodak camera. I does take nice shots and was my first adventure with digital photography. I just love macro shots and the focusing is very difficult as you said. We have had very hot and wet and humid weather here, perfect mushroom weather. The past two days, I've gone out into the woods and taken maybe 30 shots of mushrooms. I think two of them are in focus. It is so difficult to tell from the little view screen, you really can't tell till you get home and look at them on the computer. Very difficult, very disappointing.

Dude, sorry about your ill camera.

Yeah, I used a Kodak 6490 for a year (my first foray into digital) and the lack of manual focus, combined with the excruciatingly SLOW auto-focus was driving me nuts! I won a photo contest with it, though, and then used the proceeds to step up to a Canon 20D.

I still giggle at my new superpowers!

Hope you can return to real photo-control soon, David.

That is the problem with not having manual focus. I fought focus problems constantly with the Kodak when doing anything other than landscapes or portraits. It's a nice camera for many uses, but the focusing is very much a problem. One of the many advantages of the Nikon I purchased. Unfortunately it's been out being repaired for almost three weeks. Something electrical went majorly wrong with my D70s and I had to send it back.

Thanks for your comments,

Dave

great shot, but unfortunately, your camera focused on the nest behind the chick. ;(
