It does get cold here, but you learn to dress for it. I have a set of Arctic weight thermal underwear for shooting on days like this one.

I like the composition with this photo. Very well done and executed. Looks a little too cold for me though, I think I'll stay in Florida.
Nice job.

Thanks Alastair. Your comment about the darkness of the image is duly noted. I do tend to be a little dark.

Beautiful verticals Richard! I like the way the boat is off centre in the image too. My only criticisms are that the top of the mast is cropped too tight (as has already been noted) and that it is a trifle dark...

Beautiful composition and well spotted though..

Thanks Em, I have to thank Mother Nature for the dreamy effect of this one.

Thanks Sandra. I agree 100% about the mast. I was so disappointed, when I first saw this on my screen. I am getting used to a new camera, and somehow I misjudged this shot. I guess I learned the hard way to leave some negative space around the subject ...... just in case.

Greeting Richard,
Beautifl composition, my only suggestion would be to include the very top of the mast, croped just a bit tight. best regards, sandra

Thanks Rebecca, I'm learning. The D70 is very much like my film cameras, so it is really only the world of colour I must learn to deal with. I can't wait for the opportunity to get out with my F80 and some Tri-X though. B+W landscapes are still my fav.

Beautiful image ,love this wonderful sky color & that clear blue in the horizon . having the ship aside in the shot help to convey the mood.

Regards.
