About Taken at a meadow near Hume Lake in Sequoia National Forest in California. The sky looks really bright to me...any suggestions on how to avoid such a burned out sky next time?

I am sure the Velvia is far better. And as I said, and the confirmation from Bobby, the Film has no problem. If you look at the shot Kwan made, you would see the diferent effect the ND filter does. So follow Bobby?s advice. I also use the split red filter for B&W films, when making shot with Nature and the sky. The result are very good. So get one slit ND.

Thanks Bobby, I couldn?t come to this idea, for I have got an ND filter.

The split ND filter would be appropriate for this shot. No different film or shutter speed would have prevented the sky from burning out.

thankyou very much for the comments and the link.

the shutter speed wasn't too long, if i remember correctly. and the original slide's sky wasn't nearly as burned out as it is in the scan...but it was still pretty burned out. are there any filters i could use? ND filter maybe? i'm going to try provia soon...is the grain as good as velvia?

I always come back to this Picture. I don?t know why. I am not an good photographer, I mean, i wouldn?t even call myself one.

I have been doing some reading lately and i think have some suggestions.

1. I have never used this film, but haven read abit about it, I am sure there choice of Film was right. Also visit this site, maybe you will get some help.
www.dl-c.com/Velvia%20vs%20Provia%20100F/Velvia%20vs%20Provia%20100F.html

2.You should be very careful with the shutter time. For I am sure the problem with the Picture is that, there is a lot of light in it. I don?t know what Time and how the weather was, the day you made the shot.

Well that is what I think.
