Hey, don't you think I should get a little credit for this too? It was my camera. ;)

That's three votes for "Ra". When I read the first comment about Egyptian Gods, "Ra" was my first thought. Also along the lines of the mythological gods, you could consider Hephaestus or Vulcan.

It feels like, I just been shot w/ a lazer gun. Very good effects.

Really?

So John was correct in his write-up - lasers do wierd things to cameras...

Ra was my first thought - the "eye of Ra" seemed to have consistent mythological significance. The only other connection I can draw is to Seth, who was always associated with the colour red.

John,

It's not a fingerprint. What you're seeing is a diffraction pattern that is caused by two elements in your lens. I used to build lasers and this is a common occurence when using a coherent light source, such as a laser. The only ancient Egyptian God that comes to mind, would be Ra, who is the Sun God.

It really does look like a finger print...but I don't remember seeing any fingerprints on the lens. I can't imagine what else it may be though...

The thing about that Egyptian name is that I know no Egyptian names:)

Is there a very distinct fingerprint on the lens, or is it my imagination? The explosion of red against the nothingness of the dark background gives it an oddly primeval feel as well. I'd probably name it after an Egyptian God, or something, in a poor effort at pseudo-intellectualism, myself. :)

Experimentation - GOOD!
