You know the word "pier" is also used in Dutch ? Even so, litteraly the same ! As it is for "polder" .. Great shot btw, and a "trompe-l'oeil" because the buildings seem to be on the pier at the one moment, and behind the other .. strange effect .. regards, Peter

Lovely to 'see' the 'seaside' I had to peer closely at the sea by the pier to see if there was anyone in the water. Great composition Chris Margaret

And if you put another pier alongside it would be a PAIR of PIERS. And if they both had fruit stalls on, they may be a PAIR of PIERS with PEARS ? Oh no - see what you have started ;-) It is a super photo Chris, the details is great even down to the reflections of the people on the beach. Excellent capture - I love piers (walking and fishing) guess I could not be that much further away from the sea living in Harrogate lol

Morning Mr S ... it's too early for me to play word games with you :-) so let me leave you this ... I like this image ... it's soft, the blues blend in beautifully, excellent angle of the pier and wonderful reflections. Linn

A beautiful old pier ! I like the group and the boat in the composition too. (Thank you also for your words, I am happy that I wrote " Brighton Pier" some days ago the right way :) ) Your portfolio is also a nice guide on England, which I like to visit often. Regards Jan

Do you do crossword puzzles? :)
Hi Chris, you even have a 'Southern California type' pier there! You too have surf that meets the turf!
I like this very much, but I really think that building on the pier (not peer or pear or ??) but I'm kind of thinking it should have a thatched roof, yes?? (just kiddin ya)
Nice work, once again, Lori :)

Don't believe..that it's just English which has silly spellings or stupid structure. It comes out of our eveloping in each country..and the choices we make for changes in the language....Never mind... Great picture..especially the small people on the beach... just great. Wonder what made them go swimming and playing on this beach...seems so cold :-/

Haha - 'Dodgems' - I haven't seen dodgems for years.
Tremendous shot, upto your usual high standard too. Maybe the people on the beach could have been either further in or out of frame altogether, they just feel in the wrong place to me.
Good work though.
