His eyes are very deep and beautiful but they dont catch me first thing. I think there are other things you cold do with just his eyes, maybe if you were to make a card or banner and just use his eyes from this pick along with his name or something, these are great eyes. The photo itself needs something, I do like it in black and white but maybe border it, maybe an oval for an oval face, maybe just bring out his eyes in B/W. So many possibilities I bet he gives you lots of photo ops! Arent kids great?? Here is something I made with my eyes to kinda tell you what I was talking about.... ~mandy

I would suggest that you turn off the flash and seek out some interesting light to play on his face. With this film speed you should be able to shoot at least from decent window light if inside.

Jon, Great face shot. Very expressive eyes. Thanks for the comments on my Great River Road. I will not be help much on the tech. aspects of photography. I have been shooting for 12 years and only know my way around a camera to load/unload film and frame a decent shot. (Yes I know a tad more) but my point is, gather all the knowledge you can from this site...it is loaded with people just waiting to be asked. Welcome to Usefilm...and you are off to a good start with this one. Jim

Thanks for your kind comment, Rachel. He *is* adorable, isn't he :-] ... Yes - the b&w turned out to be quite effective. I tried some playing around with contrast levels and other effects in PSP as per your suggestions - thanks.

Nice picture... very true... his eyes draw me into the photo! Yes i know what you mean... sometimes changing it to b&w does that to a photo. It would be nice if maybe this photo was a little less grainy and maybe had a little more contrast... Adorable child though, nice job :) ~Rachel~
p.s. I tried converting it to black and white, adding more contrast, softening to get a little less graininess and tried to make the b&w less flat... hope you like it
