Dear Al,
With all the New Bugs of the 'New Face' I thought I would just rather comment on one of your other images that I have not critiqued yet ... Alright?
This just might be my favorite of yours because of it's minimalism and placidness especially rendered in B&W. Very serene and peaceful indeed allowing the mind to wonder throughout the image and absourb what you have captured so well.
Take it easy and Best of Regards!
Douglas, (aka 'Sunset Man')
P.S. ... A 'solid' six rating all the way!

Photo majestueuse et parfaitement équilibrée...elle touche l'âme et me fait penser à une photo de Mickael Kenna (en particulier son livre "Japan")
Salut et bravo à toi

I think that this is my favorite shot out of your portfolio. I really like the tones and how everything is mids with a little bit of highs and a little bit of lows spread throughout. Great choice on B&W to get that mysterious feeling. If this was shot in color it would be an entirely different photo...

Hi.. I am watching this photo from 15 minuteren... and more I watch it more are attracted. perhaps why I adore lagos... I find a semplicità compositiva disarming that it equals the natural show. the small cliffs that give right go on the left in diagonal seem to want to run encounter to those on the background, fecndo a curve... the glares gild to you seem the spark for the departure. the mountains in BG that in the fog create atmosphere to the lago! skillfully the beauty of the nature in little elements and with one is represented all perfect exposure! soon with new photos cheers roby

Have to give your charisma a boost. Besides this is a wonderfull view, with great tonal range and DOF. The horizon just goes on forever. Now I must look at a similiar one of my own, that I thought had mere snapshot potential. You are an inspiration.

Well, all prior comments aside, this definitely works for me. There's a striking balance in the composition that reminds me of some of those striking Chinese Taoist wash drawings of 1000 years ago. The tones are really striking and I really am taken by the very subtle detail you caught with the gentle contours on the water. Marvellous work. The more I look at this, the more I like it.

The image and mood are wonderful. My only gripe is the vertical lines in the bottom left. Looks like it could be artifacts from the scanner. I love that little stick down there, too.
