Technically correct but lacks of originality

I really like this, it blurs the boundaries between the lace and the flowers. The blend is what makes it appealing for me. Its almost duotone quality is a definite plus.

Well done.

Bev:

I think the composition is very strong. Only nit is the bluish backed lace in the right middle of the frame. My eye keeps floating there which is slightly distracting.

I was lucky enough to see a larger print of this one. It is indeed very well balanced compositionally, and the texture is incredible. Toni, I always value your great feedback, but I wouldn't change a thing on this one :)

Yes Bev, a large print might be the answer. I would like to also see more of that wonderful light I see behind the vase. Have you tried this in a window? It's hard to tell if that is a little bit of a window behind. It could really bring the image to life. You're always very good Bev. I just think this one needs a little more work to be equal to your other images. May I borrow your steel jeans? And you can come down a little harder on me. I would appreciate it, really!

Beverly,

While I agree with Toni that the flowers all blue would maybe be nicer, I think this is a great composition. I like it a lot.

Thanks Toni, I always appreciate others views, it helps a person to "see" what needs seeing. This was taken with a large print in mind..which I had done. It has a totally different look at 16x20..not so busy..if that makes sense?
:-)

Been thinking about this, Bev. I think the lace needs a rose.

Bev, I hate saying this. I love the lace, I love the vase, and the flowers. I just think there is too much there. Just too busy. Please try 2 flowers and see what you think. And I think the flowers have to be blue to work the best. Please excuse my frankness! I'm a Sagittarian!
