About This was a fun one to shoot...every few minutes a wave would make its way all the way up the shore and rearrange all of the rocks.

This was shot by waiting for one of the waves, then running up to a good group of rocks once the wave started to recede.

Thanks for all the comments!

Arreymbuo: it's digital - Canon D30.
Larry: Ano Nuevo...yes, north of Santa Cruz. A nice place to lower the blood pressure.
Terrence: it's not silly to be honest, thanks.

It seems almost silly to cast a wet blanket over such an obviously beautiful image, but to be honest the first thing that popped into my head when i saw this shot was how complete foreground/background DOF would have made it perfect (but then, thats taste) either way quite an eye catcher~

Ano Nuevo... north of Santa Cruz, right? I really like this composition with the extra-long foreground. That's one low tide!

Great shot Steve. Sounds to me that you like to shoot like I shoot...to have a great time!! Colors here are first rate. I love the way the gold colors intensify as you draw closer into the sun. The little rocks add an element that takes this shot from good to excellent. However, I too agree with Kenneth that the lens distortion is easily identifiable here. Also on my screen the sun and waves are out of focus. If it was crisp and without distortion...look out!

Wow Steve!

It is a very beautiful shot. Ths sand, the rpocks the colour. It just like magic. I love it.

What film did you use?

Fantastic shot! The sense of depth is awesome. The higher placement of the horizon draws my eyes deep into the shot. I really like the detail in the sand and how the lines take the eyes toward the sun. Wonderful reflection off the water. I do notice the lens distortion. But it doesn't bother me much. Well-done!

I like this Steve, I like the vertical composition and how the rocks lead us right up to the sunset. you have a beautiful gold reflection on the sand as well, nice!
