It just dawned on me that that might be why Mike thinks this is photoshopped. Mike?

William - I tend to have very lousy titles named after the subject or location. I'll have to work on it - I do like *your* title! Thanks. I guess you'll be disappointed tomorrow on Pole Field #2, though :) I'll try to work on it after that, I promise!

Thanks Kenneth - I think you'll like the light of the next one better. Regarding B&W, there's one particular reason why I retain the color on this one...it's a color idea that got stuck in my head:

There's the brown earth. And there's the blue sky. And then there's the poles. The poles are blue and brown and connect the blue sky to the brown earth. While I know 99% of viewers will never notice that (or notice it and not care), it's one of the things that I personally like about this (regardless of my lack of objectivity).

So I ask you all...do you care, or do you say "so what?" I may not be fully objective but I'm not being defensive - this is truly an honest request for comments on the color motif.

Steve, the only problem I have with this photo is the title. Perhaps, Stonehedge of Arizona? Or something. This is a classic photograph, taken from a classic angle, with movement from left to right--fun, interesting, different--an eye opener. Post some more quickly--I get bored easily.

Wonderful shot with a graphically strong composition. I really like the combination of the S-curved path and the straight row of poles. The sense of depth is great. The light is not the best though and I am sure you have shot this in different lighting situations. This one would make a nice comparison. It might make a good balck and white shot though.

Hey Steve! Nice site and it's good to see you.

cool shot - what are all those poles there for anyway? Looks a little like razor stubble. ; )

I don't understand the Photoshop comment. I did this quite a while ago, but I don't recall anything in PS other than basic adjustments - levels, unsharp mask. Not that I don't use Photoshop heavily in some images.

Kim - I think maybe you'll like the next one tomorrow better if you're looking for strength or drama.

Looking like PhotoShop from where I sit... an interesting idea.

I like the way the road twists through the frame, leading the eye in and upward. Great see and capture with the poles although I was wondering if you have a polariser to make the sky a little more intense. It doesn't NEED it, but it might add a little extra to the image.
