About Another in the Unofficial Song and Artist Category. Shot from the wheel of a moving car, while driving downtown. A very wise man once said "The difference between Art and Error is Intent". LOL... Converted to b&w in PSP, some fiddling with contrasts and added warming to the final print.

Great one- really like it. It is like a mystery film.

Hi Jon,
The highlight in the middle is not a huge deal, but It does stand out more in the one you posted.
It seems to work a little better in the colour version. (almost looks like the "Windows" logo)
The removed version is okay too. Maybe you could try just toning it down a little to about the same as the long stripe on the boy's pants in the foreground. Judging by how it looks in the colour version, that might be your best bet in B&W.
I like the grain over-all in this kind of image.

Hmmm.... well okay, removing the highlight in the middle really does seem to help this photograph along.

"..almost captured" - I like that. This was literally a "grab shot". I had the camera on the seat beside me, I whipped it up one handed as I went through the intersection, held down the button and panned across to follow them as I went past. At some point the auto-focus gave up in despair and let the shutter fire. I have copied the original below. I like the bw better because it is "grittier" (whatever that means :), but both have similar qualities. Looking at it now I realize that the one young thug seems to have spotted me and my camera and appears to be glowering menacingly in my direction.

One thing I might have fixed in this image but chose not to was to clone out the highlight in the middle.

Cheers,

Jon

Hi Jon,
So which one is it? Art or error?

These kind of shots are always interesting. I see them as little bits of life almost captured. Somehow the blur gives the image a different kind of life. Intentional or not.
