About Our Shetland Sheepdog Kuu-Chan likes this stretch of our morning walks. He likes to watch the stream and smell the flowers that grow beside it. I quite like it too, and thought I'd make a panorama of it. Best viewed with the VR viewer software, this is a true 360 x 180 degree panorama. If you look carefully you'll see a shadow of me, but not of course me myself...

Only the basic utilities are free, Toby... the shareware front end, PTgui, can be tried free (it is fully functional but won't let you save the panoramas created to disk, I believe) but is still very reasonably priced. USD 50 or 60, if I remember right. I bought it years ago. Upgrades are free for a year, and very modestly priced after that. I think I paid USD 15 last time. You might like to take two photos side by side and combine them into a really wide-angle view. There's a very good photographer on Usefilm who does that with two pictures one ABOVE the other to create a squarer WA picture. The results look like photos from a Hasselbad using a Zeiss Distagon! I have no axe to grind on PTgui's behalf--don't own shares or anything--just a very satisfied user.

If you have any questions about panoramas, please ask them in the "panorama" forum, so that others can share the answers. This area of Usefilm was created at my request, and I will be doing most of the anwering. At the moment there doesn't seem to be much interest, alas. It is very encouraging to have someone like yourself interested. Thanks for the encouragement!

Hi, Toby. Thanks for visiting, glad you like them. I use the free PanoTools utilities but with a shareware front end called PTgui. It's a great program, and really helps to make all sorts of panoramas, in my case from circular fisheye photos. Much less expensive than most alternatives!

Rodger,

I'm really enjoying these panoramic fisheye photos... what are you using to stich them together.

I can see you lurking, leastways your shadow of course Roger. Another wonderful panoramic composition my friend. I hope Kuu-Chan gave approval of your photgraphic spree whilst on his walk period. I suspect this happens quite a bit though:):) Well done my friend, great details and colours....Best wishes.....Ray

Looks like you've been having better weather than we have Roger. It's been quite warm here this Spring (especially today), but the sky has been so hazy; My camera is just sitting in its bag collecting dust...
