About There's a famous shrine at the next station up the line from our house, and they're having a flower festival. This is the well-decorated walkway to the shrine. "You can't miss it," they tell you. I believe it. But I was headed in a different direction. Couldn't get it all in closer to the entrance, so stepped a loong way back and used my telephoto.

Thanks for the explanation Roger. When I lived in Bangkok, there were crosswalks which no one used. The way one crossed the street was to boldly walk out into the traffic and hold one's hand out. It worked. I never got run over by a bus or anything...Gary

Thanks, Gary. One of my rare telephoto shots. Yes, that's a crosswalk or pedestrian crossing. On working days traffic goes up that road and the only place cars will stop for you is if you are on one of those things.

Don't know how I missed this one before. Great colors and lots of stories going on. Just one questions: Is that a crosswalk at the bottome of the pix? If so, why?

It may well have been, Gabriela. The timing looks about right, early July. And there's that large star on the arch...

Joyce, over the last weekend, I walked up that road to the shrine and took the best part of a 36-exposure cassette in the shrine/temple precincts. Oops, that reminds me to go and collect the film and CD-ROM with scans on it... If they're any good I'll post some. Most are on the NEXT roll, though.

A real kaleidoscope of vivid colours, Roger!!
Good use of the telephoto lens, squashing it all up nicely!
