Hi Dave,
These guys are great, but have you got the Pileated Woodpeckers locally? They are fantastic! Almost prehistoric looking. They are three or four times bigger than the Downys and have that Woody Woodpecker "laugh".

Nice clear shot, Dave. How many feet were you from this bird? I just bought a 3X Kenko and it has some good prospects, but is really touchy on focusing and exposure.

I's Woody the woodpecker not Downy!!! Did you fall on your head taking pictures of birds? HaHa... A very crop. The lines in the picture are striking as well as the composition. Nice details and I like the softnes of the feathers against the hard bumpy contrast of the tree.
