HI Sian,
It's been several months since I worked on this shot, so I don't remember exactly what I did. I know I reduce the noise which softens an image quite a bit. And I also used a very light guassian blur. I wish I could remember the numbers. Thanks for your nice comment.

Sheila! It would be fun to see you guys! We are open Tues-Sat 6AM-2PM.
I can't remember exactly what I did with this photo. I think that I made a copy, desatted it almost 100% and then erased over the blanket with the opacity at about 25%. I'm probably off on the numbers somewhat.  ) I reduced noice and used a slight gaussian blur if (I remember correctly) to soften it.

Hi Susie....Long time no talk with....Sorry I haven't been around...with the planning of the wedding ....the wedding and now the planning of our honeymmon...when Time doesn't stretch that far...lol...Fantastic shot...I got the New 5D and two new lenses...can't wait until the 17th of february to try them out in Hawaii...I am going to try to be on UF more often...I miss My friends Photos.

This one looks great with the muted / faded colours. A nice relaxed casual look to the hair and blanket. She seems very comfortable.
I think it is a good thing to pick a colour out of the shot to use in the frame, as It looks like you did in this one. Maybe not the way you would print it (with frame) but for web presentation I like it!
