strange as it may seem it seems to be the same over here. I have seen a lot of these birds compared to normal. Canada Geese as well are starting to summer around here in several spots.
GOt lucky here, hope I don't get caught taking pictures across state lines ;-)

Hang in there and always have the camera ready, this one was spotted along the road and I drove passed it turned around, came back and pulled over to the wrong side of the road to get as close as I could. It was a feeder road to a rec area so I didn't stay there too long, nor did the bird ;-)

Fantastic detail Jim, and the DOF is doing it's job superbly. We've noticed that there's an abundance of game birds about this year. Seen many pheasants and partridges but no grouse so this is a pleasant change.

You nailed this one perfectly, Jim! Great perspecive, you must have been lying on your stomach, or down the hill! It's beautifully clear and isolated from the background, too.
