I could see the marvelous way you captured the waterbirds in this photo only aftert I openened the thumnail. I'm almost sorry I did, as before that it looked likea black mystery. It's a marvelous photo any way you look at it and I would likevto use it to thank you for your comments on my three last photos: "Green winebottle", "Rhapsody in blue" (I corrected the caption in the original) and "Bottle necks". Best regards, Rafi

I envy you. I don't think we're going to have winter this year. The lighting here with that bright stripe of sunshine is just perfect. A wonderful cold picture.

Nice picture of the geese, Dave. We have so many of these geese in our parks they have almost become a nuisance on land. They are nice to look at when swimming or flying, but they deposit so much excreta on shore. People just love to feed them.

Hi Dave, What a bad weather for the geese to swim.. I can't imagine they love swimming in this ice-cold water. Good capture Dave, my regards, Khaled.

If I were a duck I would already be heading south! This presented a tricky challenge for you with the light distributed the way it was. I don't believe there is sufficient contrast to really make the birds stand out.

Dave, Great shot of the geese. They let you get that close! We are just starting to get into the migration pattern here. To get that close I'll have to call them into decoys or get real lucky. last weekend I belly crawled 75 yards only to spoom them before I was ready. I just bough a nice flash unit and a couple slaves to help in photographing them in the early hours and dusk hours over decoys.
