Thanks again Robert. I do think it is the noise from using ISO 400.

Thanks Reza. Right now the 70-300G is all I can afford, and you know it is a fine lens for the money. I agree abou the noise, it actually looks a lot like the grain of Tri-X.

Maybe you had moisture on the lens or could be the ISO for the grain looks fine to me just as good as the color one.

So, you revisited the 70-300G! You got some great results...a very stunning skyline. I wouldn't have opted for any other ISO speed because it gave you some natural noise, rather than PSing it later. Nice job!

I agree Rebecca. I was desperate to take some shots yesterday, and since this lighthouse is only about 5 minutes away I thought I'd take a chance despite the weather. It started raining just as I arrived, so I slapped a lens hood on my 70-300G and fired away. I was disappointed with the colour, but the B+W is not too bad.

Thanks Fadel. I have an improved conversion technique, and the noise at ISO 400 replicates film grain quite well.

I have to say go with the bw on this one. It portrays a moody, rainy, cloudy day. Lovely shot! I'd take color over bw had there been some lovely evening light spraying down across that lighthouse.

I like both of these, Richard. This one shows that it was a rainy day. The tone and mood are effective. Mary
