Hey Jason. This was taken from a vantage point near Fraser Ave which is the main entry into Kings park from the city. There are great vantage points all around and I reckon I could spend a whole night there just taking shots. This particular shot overlooks the Kwinana Fwy and Mitchell Fwy interchange looking east, but there are great views looking south east and south too. This shot was taken around 9:30pm.
If you want a great shot looking to Perth from South Perth, go to Sir James Mitchell Park which is off Mill Point Road, South Perth. All along this bank of the Swan River are great photo ops. There is also a small lake near Coode Street (near the jetty) which will give a good foreground with palm trees to frame the shot. Have a great trip...lucky bugger.

fantastic shot Mark, gives me something to look forward to in a few week for when i travel west, where abouts in kings park was this taken, when and what time? whats a good point on the south side for a city shot

Super night shot!!! Excellent panoramic view of a nice city (which I'm hoping to 'experience' first hand next year... :-)) and what a bonus: the full moon really 'lights up' the dark part of the shot!!! Well captured!!

Hi Mark,
This is an amazingly beautiful panoramic! You've got your exposure right on the money. That's pretty difficult considering the distance of the objects and the full moon! Very well done!
