Thankyou Jerry. Most people try to capture the innocence of children. That is great...but they have so much more to offer. And that is something I like to delve into....the challenge of seeing their full personalities. People underestimate what children really have to offer the world.

No, no, no. You aren't looking at the overall picture Larry. The extremes from one emotion to the other. They are meant to conflict. That is the beauty of using BW and lighting. You can bring out these emotions within one image without the contradiction of colour.

Samuel. What you don't see is the third child. My youngest child was on the right hand side facing in to the centre. He was fidgeting quite a bit and this annoyed my daughter. So she pulled this face and I managed to capture it. I felt that she held the image but by keeping my other son on the left of the image it added the extremes to the composition.

Hi Judi, I like the lighting and shadows in this one. The tones seem right on too. The expressions seem to match the lighting as well. Well done. Did you shoot them at the same time or layer them in later? If at one time - my complements in working two youngsters to cooperate for a common theme... Cheers! Sam

I think you did mix with Dracula a little too long. You are really liking the creepy things. Oops...that's right...you are the Doctor Ghoul, aren't you.

Excellent strong portrait Judi, What a strong sharp look, I would love to see this look alone in a picture, the other face is a little distracting, Adding a twinkle to the eye would make it looks really creepy, very well done, Regards,

I love the incredible contrast of emotions, one so pure and innocent and the other has such intensity with a diabolic glint in her eye. The light on his face and hers being in partial shadow enhances the conflict.

Mark. I did actually look at just having her in the image, but it certainly seemed to have more visual impact with her hidden behind her brother.

Superb dramatic portrait Judi, beautiful lighting and very well taken :-)

It looks like she has been getting some "glaring" lessons from my daughter ;-)

Personally, I like the two very different expressions. I think it works well !

Best wishes,
Steve

And if you keep playing around and coming out with such results so keep on playing Judi. This is another fabulous dramatic work once again. The core of photography is not the shooting skills but the amount of creativity and feelings you present and you have earned all of those tools my dear friend. Cheers and since I have not been around since a while, I can not leave here without a big noise so BIG LARGE 7 for this shot
