About Desparate measures for desparate times is my excuse for surfing in the Uk but it is great getting away for a weekend to the coast & enjoying sunsets like this. It was much colder than it looks with the water temp at around 11c & air temp at this time probably cooler than that.

My thoughts will be available to you with your first uploads.

Just on the subject of surfing - your portrait has a real Kelly Slater look to it? you here on usefilm from Forida?

Cheers Matt. I was in Croyde on the weekend and the surf was great! It is still pretty good today even. 4ft offshore & nice peeling peaks. Water was a balmy 11c but the sunniest day of 2005 so far in England I would say. Quality

Funny you should talk about needing a model as I am studying portrait photography at St Martins this week. Just getting into it & I want to start experimenting more tomorrow. I will post some of the work from the course as I go along. I would be interested to hear your thoughts.

hey Grant. So the one reason I had to open this photo was cause it's my main surfing beach! eh voila - yours too! However, living 2hrs away and now fearing any swell over 4ft the frequency I'm here is becomming less and less.
Thanks for your comments on my photo recently. I'm really pleased you've noticed an improvement in my work. I too feel after 2 or 3 years there has been a bit of a turning point.
This is a nice landscape shot (based on my limited knowledge in this field). These rocks form a strong lead in line and I love what you've done with only 1/3 sky - bold and smart!Exposure is good here - is this as it came out or have you sandwiched/layered in PS?

One final point - where's the surf - you didn't go out in that 1ft on shore slop did you! LOL!!

If you're ever about in Cheltenham look me up and we'll take some photos! I'm always looking for a willing model, even better if you know how to hold a reflector!
See ya
Matt
