John,

you're right, I was grilling and trying to keep from burning the hamburgers. This unusual seen just took place. I took 10 or so images but only the first 2 or three captured this strange lighting situation. I rarely do any landscape or sunset type of work ... but this was unusual so I decided to try. Acutally I framed this to use as a background for something else ... ( thinking of portrait with double exposure ... but I don't have the matching shot in my mind yet ). I just had to get this on film ... we'll see what becomes of it in the future.

The sky color is great. The shot doesn't work for me, because it is just sky color. You need something with the sky to make this work, a subject, more balance perhaps. It is hard to work it all out especially when the color is happening. Did you stumble across the scene or were you set up for it?
