My first time attempting to capture the Aurora Borealis, my first time seeing an Aurora Borealis.
Had a tough time playing with the settings and toying with different exposures, particularly because I was so in awe of what I was looking at, and partly because of how cold and dark it was in the middle of a farm field in November, 1 mile away from Lake Ontario.
The sky was shimmering in shades of reddish pinks and blues, but I gather because of the exposure rate, it captured these intense reds and greens.
I will post another for comparison.
Feedback is appreciated! I would like to know how to better capture these images, so I can be better prepared for the next round.
wow, george, this is beautiful! lucky you get the opportunity to see them. i've been waiting my whole life to see the lights but have not had a chance yet. i think this is a great photo, no problems i can see. i would play with the levels and curves and you can probably get blues and pinks out of it.
