About This resulted from an attempt at a hand-held 2 second exposure of the Coronado Bridge. The resulting grainy print has quite the pointalistic look to it. This was the best of a few scans, but it still doesn't really show the effect seen in the print.

Hey Adam,

Fun stuff! Wow, I didn't realize there were so many San Diegans. Update your information and include your email address. We may just have to call you up when all of us San Diegans decide to get together for a photo trip.

Thanks for the input Russ. It's much appreciated. I'll try composing the location of the lights a little better next time. I can see how that would add to the photo. Will give it a shot next time.

As for photoshopping out the bark, I prefer to use photoshop only to make the image look as much like the print as possible rather than use PS to improve the picture. Making it come out perfect straight out of the camera is my true goal. On the other hand, here's a link to the same pic w/o the bark and also with a close-up of what the grain looks like: http://www.thefishinmagician.com/pics/coronado.htm

Thanks again for the input.

Adam,

This is an interesting experiment you dreamed up. The colors remind me of an old-timey postcard. I also like how the moon bloomed into a big white ball. The two pieces of bark hanging from the left side of the palm tree at the same level as the bridge bother me. Can you get rid of those in Photoshop? Also, if you go back to the same spot sometime, it might help to position yourself so the palm trees don't obscure any of the lights on the bridge. It might be neat to see the uniform array of lights extend across the entire frame.

Have fun with your new camera!
