About A re-shoot taken April 21/07.
This is an image taken at one of my favourite spots.
A farmer's vehicle graveyard. He has several wonderful old vehicles stashed on a private wooded lot. Most of the vehicles, like this one, have been here for over 35 years. This link will take you to one of my original shots from around 1970.
The title of this one is "Through Broken Glass Darkly"
(one of my first attempts at "serious" photography).

The inside and outside of this truck remain almost unchanged in the last 35 years.

Thanks Richard,
I've got a lot of "mileage" out of these old truck images. And I'll be going back for more soon.

A really solid image Andre. Great composition and subtle colours.

Thanks Thilo,
I think I know what you mean about the shadow. If I obscured a little more of the shadow area there might be some more mystery added and it would create a darker mood. I have a few more of these to experiment with, so I will dry some richer, darker shadows on some others to try and get back to the "trademark" darker side :)
Keep watching out for some more Thilo. I had a very productive shoot in my auto graveyard last week :) I have a few more surprises to come. I have a mid seventies Detroit beast and an early 50's VW Beetle with all the glass and even the badge is in place surrounded by flaking paint.

Hi Andre,

I do prefer this version, as the mild tonings really add to the image and give it a bit more life. Maybe you could try to give the shadows a bit more life?

Take care, Thilo

Thanks Dave,
This old truck is very magnetic for me. I've been back to this site a few times over the years, but only taken images of this one twice.
BTW, this was actually the first vehicle that I drove. :)

Great framing through the windshield, Andre! An excellent perspective that gives the feeling of deterioration with the cracks on the other half of it.
Dave.

Thanks again Fadel,
If I get real brave, I'll try a textured overlay (similar to your style) on one of these shots. Right now though, I want to concentrate on a few more "natural" and sepia versions.

Thanks Andrzej,
My Brother posed for me 35 years ago and last year in front of some of these trucks and cars. We joked last weekend that in another 20 years he will push me out there in a wheel chair to do it again :)

So Andre, the guy got some devastation on top of his age. It looks like a hail storm or other nature disaster that hit the one. Doesn't really matter what happened, what I like is that the truck can still charm and appeal through the matured set of colors and rusty layers. Cool, and I'm sure to see another your stun impression on the "object" in 10 years. Cheers, NJ

Thanks Leo,
There will be more of this type to come.
I think you might even prefer the original from 1970 because it is taken with Tri-x 400 film.

Thanks Steve,
If you visit the original (taken in 1970), you will see a very different kind of mood.
Thanks for the comment!
