We are very fortunate here in Ottawa to be along a major migratory route for waterfowl (but we miss the raptors!). The Ottawa River is a major waterway and, in this area, has miles of wetlands along its shoreline. The wetlands are, for the most part, protected by various conservation efforts, both private and government. At this time of year, we get lots of spill-over in the urban center. This is an area along the Ottawa River Parkway where many people come to feed the birds. They are quite unafraid and even bold because of it. Easy pickin's for a photon predator like me. ;^)
Looks like the little fellow isn't really quite sure about that goose being so close, Todd! Maybe it's because it's almost as big as he is. Good catch here, with that great expression! Dave.
Geese too . . . where is this? The kid has the right idea though . . . those Canadian geese can get quite testy when you run out of food . . . (I've been bitten) . . . so keep the eye on them! :)
Love the shot overall . . . great natural expression was captured here! Good colors and well composed.
