Dave and Mattia; yeah I never realised that until you pointed it out to me! Thanks!

Kambiz, Roland, Nuri, Romy and Collin, thanks for your comments.

Roland, -10C for me is quite comfortable, we're used to -40C here in Montreal :)

Hi Collins,

Thanks for your appreciation!

About the Sigma F2.8, it really depends on what you want to use it for. For landscape, one can certainly get a wider lens with smaller apertures (you don't need the constant F2.8 there). On a 1.6x crop camera, it is 28-85mm, so not as wide as I would like it to be. It is not future proof either, since it's only for APS-C sized sensors.

However, for portrait shooting, it is very good. The zoom could've been higher, though. With a digital camera, one doesn't have much luxury of replacing lenses in the field at will - dust, rain, etc. are serious issues.

OTOH, it is a very fast lens, and I don't really have much to complain about it - other than the fact that there is a bit of softness in the corners at F2.8 - something standard with most constant aperture fast lenses.

The focus has always been consistent, and it is indeed worth all the money. Provided you use it for what it is intended to do :)

Regards, Ashutosh

Beautiful shot, great composition and exposure.

Would you mind giving me your opinion on your 18-50mm f2.8 as I am trying to decide between buying it or sigmas new 17-70mm f2.8-4.5. Thanks.
