A beautiful shot, Kathy. The leaf and branch sort of give me the feel of a railroad gate poised to come down to stop entry onto the land beyond. The colors, tone, and texture are all superb here. Steve

Wow, hard to get a sense of scale to the leaf. It could be a couple of inches, or a foot long! Amazing clarity and detail in the texture. Looks very chilly even with the sun shining!. Well done braving the cold to snap this one.
It's great to be back amongst all the wonderful people here at UF. I missed having the time to sit and contemplate everyone's images at length. Still, I did manage a 'fix' every now and then :) So glad to hear that you and Susie are doing well with the cafe. Will you be treating us to some images? I for one am dying to take a looksee...
Thanks for swinging by my portfolio. Always wonderful to hear from you. Cheers Rina

Hi Harry, As I've said before...don't ever worry about being honest in your critiques to me. That is what it's all about. As far as the cropping, I could have gone either way, and I considered it. I just like the way that the sun is shining on that mountain that is far in the distance in the upper right corner. That is why I left it cropped the way that I did. I'm sure that it would work the other way, too. Thanks Harry! and keep that honesty coming! Kathy

That kind of light makes me shiver just looking at it. There might have been sun, but I'll bet it was cold and damp. Nice photo art look to this one Kathy. Andre

Hi Kathy. Your photograph looks just like a painting. The frost on the outside of the leaf is great. The solitary leaf against the elements reminds me of something or someone having the will to Hang On no matter what the odds. Take Care..Brian

Hi Kathy I like the texture a lighting of your capture and the great detail to it! Personally I will like to crop the right site to give more what it deserve. To me the extra space create a visual discomfort in the overall composition. I am sorry for been the only negative thinker. I hope this might see it as an artistic opinion and not to create dislikes from your fans. I guess that lately had create discomfort to visit popular photographers and expressing honest opinion. Cheers! Kathy

I'm still laughing at Kelly's comment. :) It's almost like the leaf is saying "hang me out to dry cause I'm staying here until the sun melts the frost off me."
I love the way the light makes a sparkling frame of the frost all around the leaf and continues all the way down the branch. Nice lighting for this one Kathy and well seen and shot by you. Very nice.
Cheers - Ann :)

Lovely composition Kathy. Isn't it amazing that some leaves possess the tenacity to hang on like grim death. I love the iced edge to the leaf and the detail still visable in it. The pastel colours in the sky look gorgeous and the dof for me just perfect. Best wishes sweetie and 'see' you soon.....Ray
PS I am so pleased to hear that Susie and yourself are prospering well..Best wishes for that

Excellent detail in the leaf, Kathy, and especially the rim of frost around it! I like the way you've shown some of the environment around it, too, with similar frost outlines. Thanks for your comments, as well! Dave.

It does seem like eons ago since we've seen that yellow orb in the sky...(sigh)...this is really nice. Even better when viewed at the largest setting. The frost on the edges of the leaf is cool and the dof...great. Oh, did I mention the composition? Well, you know...just perfect again. Suz
