Kathy, I did think it was natural light, but wanted to check rather than assume. Getting a new camera is exciting and can re-invigorate one's photography. Not that it's necessary in your case, 'though I think you'll see things a little differently. Bonus is, with the same brand camera, you and Susie can swap lenses!

Thanks Eb! No...I didn't use fill, just natural light. Susie and I have both been learning the ins and outs of exposure, and it has been a lot of fun. Lots more to learn, but it's a whole new world. BTW...I have a new camera on the way...a Canon Digital Rebel. I'm SOOO excited!

:) great use of natural light but motion blur/camera shake happening on the left and bottom of the image. unfortunately, no amount of sharpening tool can fix definition that isn't there. tonal range is very good, however you've lost some shadow in the subject's left nostril which makes it appear quite unnatural.
