They were taken in the middle of June 2016, using a Nikon D750 with the Nikon 300mm afs f4 lens & 1.4 afs teleconverter. 1/500 @ f6.3 ISO 400. Thanks Barbara for the nice comment about this series of images. I had the idea for this when I was trying to decide what to do for a "triptych" contest for an outdoor photography magazine.

Yes, these beautiful birds are always a joy to photograph. There are two ways it can go while shooting them. They either except you being near, or they disappear under water.
