Cute shot, nicely composed with the large background space and DOF used.

Great abstract Paolo, optical illusion effect with the perspective and composing.Not sure what "Ventaglio" means, but I would guess vertigo.

Congratulations for POD. A very good capture of a very striking blossom, great job of isolation on white.

I probably stopped and studied this photo longer than any lately. I find it very compelling, strong drama playing out. I pretty much formed my opinion before looking at comments. I find the structure adds to the scene, not at all intrusive. It adds an anchor point and perspective, as well as to the unfoldind drama by placing man in the path of nature's power. Beautiful colors and lighting.

I like the composition a lot but prefer the color or BW. It may be that the sepia toning is just a little too strong. Just my HO.

Nice shot Jeanette. Title perfectly captures the capture I think the colors are too nice to go BW, I like this better.

Have a great Independence Day Joe. A nice tribute to the day and the concept that formed this great country, that has always been, and continues to be, the choice of the great majority of immigrants to make their home.
Great color and perspective.

Hi Teresa, pretty scene, what a great ribbon of a waterfall. I read the comments and would say this has a soft muted look, but being a native to NW, I know that it is often the natural conditons. You can see here the moss covering the rocks, a result of misty atmosphere from the falls. I played with it a little in PSPro, no saturation adjustment but a little histogram level tweaks that can also have effect of deepening color tones. I've included adjusted version here, I wouldn't say it's an improvement but you can view for comparison.

A nice card for your Sis Kathy, warm, fresh inviting image. It looks like it could have been shot right outside my house except over the last few years my wheel like this disintegrated.

Happy Birthday Susie!

Great fun capture. I like it as it is without cropping, she is centered but the chains have the effect of pulling your view to left. I would, when there are such light tones in image such as here, frame with a dark line of at least 1 or 2 pixels for display on screen.

A very interesting composition. Besides what has already been mentioned, what strikes me is the location of the woman on the other side of him, appearing to be held within his hand.

It's always nice to see these old farm structures preserved through pictures. Love the green grass foreground and white cloudy sky behind. You always come to mind when I see these old beauties.(LOL...don't take that wrong). Thanks for your comment on my train depot picture, I'm working on converting an old barn photo I'll probably post next.

Hi John,
This close up crop and framing gives feeling of gull flying right by window. Good exposure and texture. This would look great on wall.

Hi Lori, Postcard perfect shot! I like the 'V' formed by the beach and pier, a 'Z' if you include the horizon line. Lots of interest here and great color. (good choice on frame)

Impressive portrait Mirko. So much life and expression, excellent toning to compliment the subject, and great detail. I'm not sure that 'Dramatic BW Shadows was best project for placing this in, perhaps Dramatic Portrait or one of the 'Tribute to' projects.

> Kambiz, the nonsense started under this image was started by yourself when you chose to to use the space to push you political views;
"I wonder how long time do we need to learn from our past history, such as Vietnam war, etc.
I wonder why people don't act (except few pacifist group) propmptly b4 hand, b4 many thouands innocent life get lost, and then majority wake up from daydream."
You accuse anyone who dissagrees with you (I happen to fall in that category) of being in a daydream. I may have misinterpreted your meaning of typing "RESPECT" at the end of your comment as encouraging respect amoung members to each other, but I now have the feeling it is a demand only for others(who disagree with you)to show it to you, and no reciprocation is necessary on your part. You may not understand the phrase "answering a question with a question", it means I asked you a question which you did not answer, but simply asked me another question in response. You started "nonsense discussion" by asking rhetorical questions;
"I wonder how...I wonder why..."
Perhaps if you practiced what you preached you would not have said of me- "Perhaps by answering him, I could wake up a person out of his/her deep daydream!"

It's all about RESPECT Kambiz.

Mahmoud, I have looked at this series of photos covering the protests, and as I said- good photojournalism work. Nicely composed, good color and lighting, and most importantly the great capture of so many expressions readable signage. I do not know what your personal views are, and that is not of importance in regard to the category of photojournalism. I have absolutely no problem of postings such as these, whether one agrees or disagrees with what is dipicted in the image. I do have a problem with members who post a topical image and elaborate on their views, using UF as a platform for political action. You on the other hand have posted your images with an 'about' that simply states conditions of the photography.

> Kambiz, respectfully, you've answered questions with questions. And this is not the place(this thread or UF) for expounding political views, though it seems to be several members idea of great fun to castigate the US for every conceivable problem in the world.

By the way Mahmoud, a good photojournalism series covering the protests. Sorry for filling up comment space with words unrelated to image qualities, but silence in response to the several opinions promoted under it amounts to tacit agreement.

> So let me ask you Kambiz, what other countries/governments do you regularly blast on UF besides the USA? What do you say of the many thousands of innocents killed by Sadam or terrorists who love to kill women and children, or other acts of genocide around the world?
"wake up from daydream"
