I think we might have passed this on our way home from Penticton! We passed through the Sumas border and saw quite a few barns. My first thought was of you and I wondered if you had already taken shots of them! You always do such a great job photographing them!

This one is a great one for sure. I love the contrast of the bright green grass, the gray barn and the cloudy sky. Well seen and captured!

It's always nice to see these old farm structures preserved through pictures. Love the green grass foreground and white cloudy sky behind. You always come to mind when I see these old beauties.(LOL...don't take that wrong). Thanks for your comment on my train depot picture, I'm working on converting an old barn photo I'll probably post next.

Excellent composition Kathy and even though the weather looks a little overcast, the colours make this old barn almost pop out of the scene.

Beautiful soft colouring from a fairly overcast day my dear Kathy. I love this relentless pursuit of barns, goodness knows how many you have found for us. I love the style of this one and it really looks impressive now in this sad condition, but oh how grand it must have looked when newly built. A well composed shot sweetie with bags of detail in great clarity. I am on my usual weekly catch-up following work. My very best wishes to you as always.....Ray

I love the beautiful soft colours and tones in this one Kathy. That kind of light with those clouds is a good situation for that kind of shot.
I hope you didn't try taking any shots from directly under that door. It looks a little precarious balancing there. :)

Right Kathy! About 30 min. drive from where I live. Unique barn with its state of disrepair. The flat lighting and overcast of clouds lends to the feeling of abandonment.

I don't mind a bit, Dave! I'm flattered that you would take the time to play. Like I told someone else recently, I tend to lean toward undersaturation in my work...not sure why...but I like what you did with this shot. It looks good! Thanks again.

Great old barn, those were the good old days. I remember when I was young, I drove a team of horses that pulled the hay fork full of hay up into the barn. Shows my age doesn't it. Pretty setting. Don.

Barns are always good, Kathy, and I like your low perspective on this very much. Nicely done! Larry

Brilliant image. The colours, light and textures. It is so intriguing seeing that door- like a film is to start.

Cool capture Kathy . . . Rural, idyllic and intriguing! Love the glimpses of blue in the sky and the rich, well saturated greens. I can see the real estate listing now . . .

Oh, Kathy, back with a barn, and an interesting one at that. I can't believe the house is so close. If that is a house, of course. It almost looks like it could just be additional sheds.

Just for grins and my own practice, I took the opportunity to change the levels a little and do a little burning. Hope you don't mind. I just felt that with the lighting, this seemed a little flat. I was also curious to see what I could do with the clouds. I am trying to figure out how some of these people get that "mean cloud" look via PS. Here's an altered photo. Again, hope you don't mind.

Best wishes,
Dave

Fantastic barn hunting again Kathy. I wonder which will give first the barn doors or the house roof. Interesting florals growing on the house and also how close they built these two structures together. Spring thawing that close to the barn could not have been very pleasant. It is such a wonderful area up there and we just loved driving through last weekend. All the old barns made me think of what a wonderful area you have to capture you favorite subjects. They sure don't make barns like they use to!
