About A friends daughter. I liked the look on her face as she was listening to a conversation between her Mom and Susie. I think she had reservations!

Oh yeah...she's thinking about this one alright. Great title. A thoughtful expression and a wonderful candid moment captured. Very nice lighting and still good detail in the shadowed side of her face. A nice natural pose. Well done Kathy.

Thank you for your kind comments on my Frozen Falls images too Kathy.

Cheers - Ann :)

Kathy,
This is actually a very strong portrait and I will try to explain why. I read through the comments so far on this one and I think two of the people touched on it the same way I see it.
Czeslav said that he thought it was a "little sad face" and Alison stated that she was cute but "a little serious"
I see it as a little of both. But what comes through for me is a genuine image of a little bit of "young woman" leaving the "little girl" behind. Maybe I'm reading way too much into this, but that little bit of serious and sadness combines to create that impression for me. I know this little girl has a lot of little girl silliness left in her, but isn't it amazing how photos can be interpreted. Like I said, a very strong image.

That is a good expression. Nice light and you have retained the shadow detail very well. I think this works very well in black and white. Don.
