Good empathic portrait of a very definite person and a nice composition giving some context. The other versions seem to have disappeared but I don't think it would work so well without the colour.

I have visited your site several times and each time been interrupted before I could comment on your work.
I love this shot: although no expert on bird photography I appreciate the wonderful light and the nice composition as well as the owl keeping a watchful eye on you.
I agree with Jim - a little selective sharpening of the central area of the bird would mask what I take to be some movement blur due to it ruffling its feathers

Stephan, this is an absolutely beautiful portrait. I personally feel that the range of contrast is very acceptable, considering the limitations of down sampling an available light photo to mpeg. It really has a 3-dimensional quality -- the edgelight, the highlight in the eyes, the soft contouring shadows and, of course, the soft focus background.
I have had a fair amount of experience with the Mamiya67 and its great modeling effects and now realize that it has become the preferred camera by most advertising photographers and photo illustrators.
Maybe if we could scan and post 150 meg images, we would not have to deal with mpeg limitations.
