About: I am a retired professional photographer. I began my career in photography in 1956, and never looked back. It has been the focus of my life. My
work has appeared in yachting - boating - sailing mag. - outdoor life - gun world- motorboating - and saltwater fisherman. I have lectured to photography groups on "wedding photography" and the use of audio/visual slide shows. It has been my good fortune to be involved in Architecture-
Glamour- Celebrity and Portrait photography as well. It became clear early on, that money was not the driving force .... but giving viewing pleasure was. That is what I've tried to do for 48 years. I am a "dinosaur".. who has .. and still do.. practice "traditional" photography.
May i offer this advice to those of you who are just begining >> Be absolutely "brutal" in selecting your photographs to keep or show. Do not keep any photographs that do not measure up -- for if you do -- it will become your standard.
I owned and operated a commerical/portrait studio for 19 years..... and if i can help you ..I will.
And finally.... my photography now is for fun and pleasure. I post photographs here for the pleasure of the viewer and to TEACH BY EXAMPLE. Now, don't be rolling your eyes .. for I have been a "real" professional for 48 years. I am the sum total of many photographers who took the time to teach me. And now.. I want to pass on the knowledge to beginners and all those who really want to learn photography. I'm not interested in ratings or critiques.. What you see is what I want you to see. And last: If you are really serious..then pay attention to my statement on being "brutal" ..for, it will change your photography.
