About: I'm an amateur who lives in Washington, DC, a federal district currently occupied by the forces of the Republic of Texas. I work for the Man in my day job. After many years of squeezing the maximum out of point 'n' shoots, I started getting serious about photography in the Spring of 2000. My subjects usually fall into the categories of performers (dance, theatre, & music), street photography, & urban landscapes, both @ home & while traveling. I shoot mostly black & white 35mm & currently scan all my negatives on a Minolta Dimage Scan Dual (old SCSI version) using a Mac & VueScan software. For cameras, I use & collect the classic Zeiss Ikon Contax rangefinders from the 1930s-1950s, as well as other vintage rangefinders (e.g., Zeiss Ikon Contessa & Super Ikonta B, Canon P, Nikon S2, Bell & Howell Foton, Kodak Bantam Special). To the extent my limited budget allows, I use Leica M gear, especially for low-light "available darkness" work & to gain access to the widest variety of old & new RF glass. I use a Kyocera Contax G2 system or a Konica Hexar RF when I "need" automation or just feel lazy.
