I do know how you feel, Ray...well said...I think?!??!
Please don't let the little horse fool YOU as well...he is nothing but trouble out of that disguise! She still mentions everyday about 'selling him' and I wonder if she isn't right! Last week, he dumped over a 1/2 bottle of shampoo on himself and the bathroom floor ~ followed the next day with fingernail polish remover! And he doesn't take much *#$@ from her! I would say he truly has the upper hand in that 'relationship' right now. She will be playing nicely with something when he sneaks up and does the 'grab and run'...gets her everytime!! Looks are deceiving, Ray!!

Hey Kes!
No studio (though I wish!) ... the light source is a large bay window to their right about 5 feet away. Piece of large foam board behind them :)
Sorry I took so long to answer you and thanks for the kind words!

So glad you're back again Janet. You've been missed. I've been checking here every day to see if you've posted any new photos. Very happy to see these 2 munchkins have made up...but she still has a little mishievous look in her eyes. A wonderful composition with beautiful tones. Another great shot.
I'm still laughing at Ray's comment. :)
Thank you also for your comment on my Limbs image (I guess it is a bit jungley - maybe I should have put Tarzan in there just for fun) and also thank you for all your encouraging words and support on all my other work.
Cheers - Ann :)

I am so busy trying to catch up Janet but I saw your two unmistakable children and I've dived in to say WELCOME BACK JANET. All I can say about this young cowgirl is I hope she treats her little horse better this time around. OR ELSE!!! It's great to see your two adorable children again my love, I hope you have some great future projects for them both. I love the tones in this mono composition and you have caught a wonderful expression in her lovely little face. I have been ages in trying to catch up with everyone..I was in yesterdays thinking I would never arrive into todays until tomorrow but now, with any luck I will get into tomorrows when it's tomorrows today. Does any of that make sense sweetie....Best wishes to all of you....Ray

Nice lighting Janet, what is the source? Do you have a studio, or is the background a white wall?
Great work, keep 'em coming! Nice to see ya back at it.

a happy end at last! :)
I love his look. You can totally see he was trying to escape. Reminds me of the other series you posted (both in the bug bucket) where she also "hugged" him but then there he was trapped.
One little suggestion for the B&W conversion. I do like the rich blacks but they always come with the loss of detail in the dar areas. If you preserve them you don't get the nice look. One way to get the best out of both is to do the higher contrast in a seperate layer and then paint small areas of detail back (paint in the layer mask). If you follow some lines or structure it looks perfectly natural. I use it a lot for hair but also dark cloth. Maybe this photo isn't really a valid example for that as it looks very nice the way it is, but you get the idea.

Very beautiful and spontainous shot of two kids. You deserve a lot of credit for making them pose. I know how the kids are and a photo like Yours can be a quite a challenge to execute. Job well done!
