About Please don't tell me the background is grainy... I know, and I prefer the grain to the look after processing with a noise remover! What puzzles me about this rose is the strange orange-red hue at the heart of a PINK flower. What can have caused that, I wonder?

I like the effect of grain here Roger it creates a sort of 3D effect for the rose. As for the colour change, I have noticed it some of my shots and think it's the colour changing within the deep shadows at the heart of the flower. Best wishes....Ray

No, theres nothing wrong with it being grainy if thats the way you like. Its an excellent picture. The centre of the rose may be red because of sunlight, or maybe due to it being in shadows, it came out as a really dark pink colour, making it red...? It could also have happened if you enhanced the photo.

A very pretty rose Roger, it looks like the bud at the side is quite red too. I love the touches of other colours roses can have in them, but no idea of an answer of what causes it
