Great "participation" from this old lady - it seems she is looking straight at you. Maybe metering for her and then take a second shot to have details of the bright outdoors?

An excellent tribute, and a good photo in its own right. Square format perfect, although you seem to be already at the limit for enlargement at this size (in terms of image softness).
