About
My digital attempt at a "bromoil". the process 1) isolate the red channel as a BW image, 2) convert to RGB then to quadtone, using a profile scanned from an old well oxidized family photo, and 3) two layers: one using the noise filter set to monochrome and backing off the opacity to about 50%, and another (the top layer: opacity at 40%) pf a badly out-of-focus shot from New Orleans a year ago and I don't know what it is but it had some neat texture. Thus there are three layers: the original as a quadtone, a noise layer at 50%, and an overlay at 40%. It doesn't quite seem like a bromoil to me, but it gives me a similar sense and I wanted to get your impressions. Thanks, Mister Ken
This is very elaborate P.S. work, Ken. I love the result, although I don't quite understand what you mean by "Bromoil", unless it's the oil of Brom, which I doubt. Any Valentine girl with understanding would be pleased to receive it. I'll copy the recipe, with your permission and try it sometime. Thank you for your very kind comment on my "Black beauty." She seems to be of Ethiopian descent and these people often have equisite features. Best regards, Rafi
Thanks Bryan. I almost didn't post it for that reason and on another site it got a range of ratings that I suspect relate to how it was viewed. Mister Ken
